报告摘要:
1. Introduce two types of inorganic nanoparticles, i.e. layered double hydroxide (LDH) and lipid-coated calcium phosphate (LCP) nanoparticles, and then demonstrate their high potential as the drug/gene delivery platforms.
2. Recent research using clay nanoparticles as vaccine adjuvants to promote higher and long-term immune responses against cancer and bacteria.
3. Demonstrate the capability of inorganic nanoparticles as positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agents for cancer imaging and detection.
报告人简介:
Prof. Zhi Ping (Gordon) Xu is the group leader of Australian Institute for Bioengineering and UQ VC Senior Research Fellow at The University of Queensland. He received his PhD from National University of Singapore in 2001. His research area is focus on the control prepration of clay nanomaterials, calcium phosphate nanoparticles, etc., delivery of drugs and gene to treat cancers and other diseases, developemnt of nanoadjuvants for enhanced immunisation for human health and animal health, imaging and diagnosis of normal and disease tissues (in particular tumour tissues), development of nanotechnology for crop protection and weed growth control. He has published more than 210 peer-reviewed articles (includes Nature Plants, Adv. Mater., JACS, ACS Nano, Nano Letter, Chem. Commun., Nano Scale, Small, Biomaterials, J. Control Release, etc.) and the total citation is over 8300. He serves as the associate editor of RSC Advance, editorial board members for 6 journals and reviewer of more than 20 journals.
